Heavenly Father, help me be ready and more
important, willing to serve You in whatever way You ask. I think I am willing, but I know there are
times and days when I am tired and think, “why me, why now?” I want to be willing no matter what. Give me a heart that is strong to stand up for
You, tender for others, and changeable when You need me to change. I know You will give me whatever I need to do
Your work. I just need to be willing to
step out of my comfort zone when You ask me to do something new. Help me hear Your voice and know when it is
Your work and not something the enemy is doing to keep me busy and out of his
way. Help me stay focused on You in
everything I do. It doesn’t matter if it
is kids, grandkids, vacation, relaxation, or work. Help me do it all for You.
In Jesus’ name.
Amen!
Once again we see God encouraging Moses as He
tells him exactly what to do as he and Aaron approach Pharaoh. He warns Moses that Pharaoh’s heart will be
hardened and he will not listen. God
tells Moses that He will increase his powers of destruction on Egypt and that His
people, the children of Israel, will be brought out of Egypt. Moses, 80 years old, and Aaron, 83 years old
did as God had commanded and once again were found to be obedient. I love how God continues to encourage both
Moses and Aaron while laying out His plan repeatedly. We see obedience and service even at ages we
would consider as being ‘seniors’. My
excuses of being too old, too tired, too goofy…too…too… too…whatever…do not
exemplify obedience. Think of areas
where you can serve and be a witness for Christ. What’s holding you back? Pray that God will show you how and where to
serve and trust that He will equip you to carry out His will.
Exodus
7:1-7
And the Lord said
to Moses, “See, I have made you like God to Pharaoh, and your brother
Aaron shall be your prophet. 2 You
shall speak all that I command you, and your brother Aaron shall tell Pharaoh
to let the people of Israel go out of his land. 3 But I
will harden Pharaoh's heart, and though I multiply my signs and wonders in
the land of Egypt, 4 Pharaoh
will not listen to you. Then I will lay my hand on Egypt and bring my hosts, my
people the children of Israel, out of the land of Egypt by great acts of
judgment. 5 The
Egyptians shall know that I am the Lord, when I stretch
out my hand against Egypt and bring out the people of Israel from among them.” 6 Moses and Aaron did so; they did just as
the Lord commanded them. 7 Now
Moses was eighty years old, and Aaron eighty-three years old, when they
spoke to Pharaoh.
