November 14– Exodus 33:7-11
7 Now
Moses used to take the tent and pitch it outside the camp, far off from the
camp, and he called it the tent of meeting. And everyone who sought
the Lord would go out to
the tent of meeting, which was outside the camp. 8 Whenever
Moses went out to the tent, all the people would rise up, and each would
stand at his tent door, and watch Moses until he had gone into the tent. 9 When
Moses entered the tent, the pillar of cloud would descend and stand at the
entrance of the tent, and the Lord would
speak with Moses. 10 And when all the people saw
the pillar of cloud standing at the entrance of the tent, all the people would
rise up and worship, each at his tent door. 11 Thus the Lord used to speak to Moses face to
face, as a man speaks to his friend. When Moses turned again into the camp,
his assistant Joshua the son of Nun, a young man, would not depart from
the tent.
I cannot even
begin to imagine how Moses delighted in these conversations with God. God spoke
to Moses as one friend speaks to another. Amazing!
We, too, can
speak with God as our friend because of the price paid by Jesus. Come into His
presence with reverence and cry out to our Holy Father. He will hear us and
guide us just as He guided the Israelites with a pillar of cloud in the day and
a pillar of fire by night.
Thank you, God,
for being my great protector and my Abba Father.
Spend time today
making your needs known to God. He cares for you and wants to be your Jehovah
Roi, Jehovah Jireh.
Heavenly Father,
thank You so much for being our Savior, our Protector, our Abba Father, our
Creator and our friend. You are the One
we can always count on. I so love that
no matter how busy You are, You always have time for us. To sit with us and talk with us and love on
us. You never have to rush off somewhere
or put us on hold to take care of something else. You will take all the time we want to visit,
cry, laugh, talk, pray or just to sit together in quiet. I love that about You, God. You are never too busy for me.
In Jesus’ name.
Amen!
