November 16– Exodus 33:17-23
17 And
the Lord said to Moses,
“This very thing that you have spoken I will do, for you have found favor
in my sight, and I know you by name.” 18 Moses
said, “Please show me your glory.” 19 And he
said, “I will make all my goodness pass before you and will proclaim
before you my name ‘The Lord.’
And I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show mercy on
whom I will show mercy. 20 But,” he said, “you
cannot see my face, for man shall not see me and live.” 21 And
the Lord said, “Behold,
there is a place by me where you shall stand on the rock, 22 and
while my glory passes by I will put you in a cleft of the rock, and I
will cover you with my hand until I have passed by. 23 Then
I will take away my hand, and you shall see my back, but my face shall not
be seen.”
I love that God
is so loving to Moses. He will show himself but in doing so He must protect
Moses. What a loving God we serve. Have you experienced the love of God
recently? As you ponder this question, show you gratitude and praise to our
Father. Sing, worship, shout for joy that we are so loved that our God knows us
by name and meets our every need.
Heavenly Father,
You show us Your glory in so many ways every single day and I am so thankful that
You allowed me to be on this side of the cross.
I can’t imagine life without the Holy Spirit. And being a “gentile”, I can’t imagine living
in the days before Jesus. I am so
grateful that He came for everyone, not just a chosen few. Help me share with others how wonderful and
merciful You are so they can have a relationship with You as well. You are the only One worthy of our
praise. Help me remember daily all the
many ways I have to be grateful and to also remember to thank You for them
because You are the Author of everything!
In Jesus’ name.
Amen!
