November 26– Exodus 36:2-7
2 And
Moses called Bezalel and Oholiab and every craftsman in whose mind the Lord had put skill,
everyone whose heart stirred him up to come to do the work. 3 And
they received from Moses all the contribution that the people of Israel
had brought for doing the work on the sanctuary. They still kept bringing
him freewill offerings every morning, 4 so
that all the craftsmen who were doing every sort of task on the sanctuary came,
each from the task that he was doing, 5 and
said to Moses, “The people bring much more than enough for doing the work
that the Lord has commanded us to do.” 6 So
Moses gave command, and word was proclaimed throughout the camp, “Let no man or
woman do anything more for the contribution for the sanctuary.” So the
people were restrained from bringing, 7 for
the material they had was sufficient to do all the work, and more.
How amazing it must have been that they had to stop people from
giving more and doing more. When was the
last time you were at a church and were told, we have enough money, stop giving?
How often do you find a church or ministry that has all the
volunteers they need because everyone wants to give back?
We typically see churches needing to continually recruit more
volunteers to help teach, work with babies, direct traffic, or any other number
of jobs that are needed to keep a ministry going.
What part can you play in seeing such an amazing thing
happen? When we love Jesus to the point
where our desire is to give back to Him anything He asks for, we will see
ministries functioning at a completely different level and in turn reaching
record numbers of people in Jesus’ name.
What a glorious feeling to know you helped a ministry run at full
capacity!
Heavenly Father, what a gift it would be to
see everyone using their God given talents, skills and gifts to the point that
any ministries we are involved in are working at their most efficient and effective
levels. You are such an amazing God, and
rarely ask anything even remotely difficult, in our efforts to show You how
very much we love you. You ask us for so
little , but You give us everything.
In Jesus’ name.
Amen!
