December 24 – Joshua 5:10-12
10 While
the people of Israel were encamped at Gilgal, they kept the Passover on
the fourteenth day of the month in the evening on the plains of Jericho. 11 And
the day after the Passover, on that very day, they ate of the produce of the
land, unleavened cakes and parched grain. 12 And the
manna ceased the day after they ate of the produce of the land. And there was
no longer manna for the people of Israel, but they ate of the fruit of the land
of Canaan that year.
I love these verses
showing that God’s timing is always perfect and He alone knows what we need and
provides what we need. The timing of the
produce being ready to eat on the day after Passover and the manna ceasing is
totally God. He knew how long they would
need the manna and God’s timing made
their need end coinciding with Passover.
How often does God work things out with perfect timing that we allow
ourselves to act as if it was just a coincidence? I urge you to watch every day for the timing
of God and allow that perfect timing to flow through you and to others who need
to see God working in a big way.
Please share with us times
you have seen God’s perfect timing in what others might see as coincidence.
Father God, You alone know
what I need, when I need it, and how I need to receive You and Your
blessings. Thank You for showing me so
many new things in Your word each day and to learn more about You as we are
digging into Your word more and more. I
am in awe of You and how Your timing is always perfect to show me You and Your
perfect provision. Help me see not only
You daily in Your word, but for me to see how perfect You are in what You allow
me to see each day. I love getting to
know You better and although I love getting to know You better through Your
word, there is nothing like talking to You and seeing how You answer at just
the right time in just the right way.
Thank You for being such a perfect Father.
In Jesus’ name.
Amen
