January 27 - Joshua 24:29-33
29 After
these things Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of the Lord, died, being 110 years old. 30 And
they buried him in his own inheritance at Timnath-serah, which is in the
hill country of Ephraim, north of the mountain of Gaash.
31 Israel
served the Lord all the
days of Joshua, and all the days of the elders who outlived Joshua and had
known all the work that the Lord did
for Israel.
32 As for
the bones of Joseph, which the people of Israel brought up from Egypt, they
buried them at Shechem, in the piece of land that Jacob bought from the
sons of Hamor the father of Shechem for a hundred pieces of money. It
became an inheritance of the descendants of Joseph.
33 And
Eleazar the son of Aaron died, and they buried him at Gibeah, the town
of Phinehas his son, which had been given him in the hill country of
Ephraim.
I love the comment that
Israel the Lord the days of Joshua. What
a great leader he must have been to garner so much respect that they followed
God during his leadership and the time those who were elders during his tenure
were alive. He caused people to set up
and take notice and they were obedient.
I would love to know I impacted God’s people in such a way.
What would you like for
people to remember you for at the end of your life?
What changes do you need
to make to have it happen?
Heavenly Father, I want to
live for You in such a way that my life causes others to see You in a new way
and desire to follow You. Help me
reflect You in all I do. Help me to make
the changes I need to make so others don’t see me, they see You. I want my life to be about loving You,
praising You, and helping others come to know You. I want to become less of me and more of You
more and more every single day.
In Jesus’ name.
Amen!
