February 17 – Judges 6:25-27
25 That night the LORD said to him, “Take your
father’s bull, and the second bull seven years old, and pull down the altar of
Baal that your father has, and cut down the Asherah that is beside
it 26 and build an altar to the LORD your God on the top
of the stronghold here, with stones laid in due order. Then take the
second bull and offer it as a burnt offering with the wood of the Asherah that
you shall cut down.” 27 So Gideon
took ten men of his servants and did as the LORD had
told him. But because he was too afraid of his family and the men of the town
to do it by day, he did it by night.
Gideon is still frightened to do as God ask. He does obey but fulfills God instructions
during the night in darkness.
Do you find yourself in darkness or frozen with fear? Step into the Light with Jesus Christ. Become One with Him and let Him shine through
you. Trust Him to bring you out of the
darkness into the Light.
What does it say about our faith when we use the cover of darkness
to shroud our obedience?
Heavenly Father, help me not only be obedient to You, but to not
be ashamed to follow You. Help me be
proud of being Your child and be willing to shout from the mountain top of Your
love and how You take of me. I love how
You love me and are proud of me even though I fail You daily. Help me be proud of You and praise You to the
world at every opportunity.
In Jesus’ name.
Amen!
