February 7 – Judges 3:12-14
12 And the
people of Israel again did what was evil in the sight of the Lord, and the Lord strengthened Eglon the
king of Moab against Israel, because they had done what was evil in the sight
of the Lord. 13 He
gathered to himself the Ammonites and the Amalekites, and went and
defeated Israel. And they took possession of the city of palms. 14 And
the people of Israel served Eglon the king of Moab eighteen years.
Here we are again. The
Israelites did what was evil in the sight of the Lord and there were
consequences. My prayer today is that God will protect me from evil and lead me
according to His sweet, perfect plan. Does that mean I will never know pain,
loss, tragedy? No, but God will be right beside me as I climb the mountain and
as I walk in the valley. Thank you, God for loving me and keeping me in your
plan. What plan does God have for your life? Ask Him today.
Heavenly Father, not only
do You not promise us we won’t have problems, You actually promised through
Jesus, at the last supper, that we would have problems, but that You had
overcome the world. I try so hard to
remember when I have a valley I’m walking through, that there is a mountain
ahead. Without valleys, I wouldn’t recognize
the mountain tops. Without the cold
bitter days of winter, I wouldn’t realize how wonderful spring is. Without the darkness, I wouldn’t realize how
wonderful a tiny shimmer of light can be.
Thank You, Father for
giving me valleys, winter days, and darkness so I could enjoy the many
blessings You give me. Anything good I
have is a gift from You. Anything good I
am, is You shining through, anything good I do is my feeble attempt to praise
You.
In Jesus’ name.
Amen!
