March 24 – Judges 15:9-13
9 Then the
Philistines came up and encamped in Judah and made a raid
on Lehi. 10 And the men of Judah said, “Why
have you come up against us?” They said, “We have come up to bind Samson, to do
to him as he did to us.” 11 Then 3,000 men of Judah
went down to the cleft of the rock of Etam, and said to Samson, “Do you not
know that the Philistines are rulers over us? What then is this that you
have done to us?” And he said to them, “As they did to me, so have I done to
them.” 12 And they said to him, “We have come down
to bind you, that we may give you into the hands of the Philistines.” And
Samson said to them, “Swear to me that you will not attack me
yourselves.” 13 They said to him, “No; we will only
bind you and give you into their hands. We will surely not kill you.” So they
bound him with two new ropes and brought him up from the rock.
How often do we see our
own people as the enemy?
Can God use us even when
we don’t follow His will for us?
What area of your life do
you need to release completely to God so He can do a great work in you?
Heavenly Father, help me
to see what You want from me. Remove the
scales from my eyes so I can see, understand, and follow You wherever You have
for me to go. I want to understand, but
I also know I don’t have to understand what You are doing to be obedient and
follow You. I so want to follow
You. Help me trust You completely no
matter what I might face. It is scary to
step out not knowing what is coming ahead, but I know You are totally
trustworthy and no matter what happens, or what I face, I know You are there
and You will guide me in the way I need to go.
That doesn’t mean it will be the way I want to go, or the way that is
easy, but I know I won’t be alone. Thank
You for being trustworthy and loving me no matter what.
In Jesus’ name.
Amen!
