March 26– Judges 16:1-3
March 26– Judges 16:1-3
16 Samson
went to Gaza, and there he saw a prostitute, and he went in to her. 2 The
Gazites were told, “Samson has come here.” And they surrounded the place
and set an ambush for him all night at the gate of the city. They kept quiet
all night, saying, “Let us wait till the light of the morning; then we will
kill him.” 3 But Samson lay till midnight, and at
midnight he arose and took hold of the doors of the gate of the city and the
two posts, and pulled them up, bar and all, and put them on his shoulders and
carried them to the top of the hill that is in front of Hebron.
In what way was Samson a
slave?
What things do we allow to
enslave us today?
Our enemy loves to enslave
us in ways we don’t see as bondage.
In what ways do you find
yourself in bondage?
What can you do today to
find a new freedom?
Heavenly Father, daily I
find myself fighting the battle of allowing things to control me or my
thoughts. The enemy is so good at
distracting me, but I know my mind needs to be on You and the plans You have. Your plans are so good, and the enemy doesn’t
want Your work done. I hate that he has
become so good at getting me to think on things that don’t matter. Help me focus on You and Your glory, Your
Son, and the work You have for me to do.
I know it will always be a daily struggle and I am so thankful that You
are on my side helping me keep coming back to the right mindset. Thank You for always being there for me and
helping me get back on track. Thank You
for loving me when I prove daily how unlovable I am.
In Jesus’ name.
Amen!
