April 29 – 1 Samuel 1:19-20
April 29 – 1 Samuel 1:19-20
19 They
rose early in the morning and worshiped before the Lord; then
they went back to their house at Ramah. And Elkanah knew Hannah his wife,
and the Lord remembered her. 20 And
in due time Hannah conceived and bore a son, and she called his name Samuel,
for she said, “I have asked for him from the Lord.”
Again, this story warms my heart. Hannah wanted a child so much and God gave
her a son, and she didn’t forget God in this time. She named him so everyone would know God gave
this child to her. Do you ever ask God
for something and then forget to thank Him or praise Him and tell others what
He has done for you? How many people
could be reached for Jesus if we told how God blesses us? Don’t forget to thank Him for the amazing
things He does. You have no idea how
others might be encouraged or impacted by your testimony.
Heavenly Father, forgive me when I get busy and forget
to thank You for the many miracles You give me each and every day. Forgive me when I don’t see Your hand in
those miracles. How often we as people
see it as a coincidence, or we finally got what we have been working for. Every good thing comes from You. Please help me to remember that and worship
and praise You for it.
In Jesus’ name.
Amen!
