July 27– 1 Samuel 28:8-10

July 27– 1 Samuel 28:8-10

So Saul disguised himself and put on other garments and went, he and two men with him. And they came to the woman by night. And he said, “Divine for me by a spirit and bring up for me whomever I shall name to you.” The woman said to him, “Surely you know what Saul has done, how he has cut off the mediums and the necromancers from the land. Why then are you laying a trap for my life to bring about my death?” 10 But Saul swore to her by the Lord, “As the Lord lives, no punishment shall come upon you for this thing.”

The medium thought he was trying to trick her and catch her going against his rules.  Its even worse than that…he himself was breaking his own rules and taking her into destruction with him.  Do you ever find yourself in a situation that you fell into and aren’t sure how it happened?  The people you hang out with can lift you up, or bring you down.  There have been people go to prison who didn’t themselves do anything wrong but were hanging out with the wrong people when a crime was committed and they are in prison because of it.  Be careful who you consider friends.  You become like the people you spend time with, so be watchful.  This is a good reason to spend time with the Lord.  We can become more like Jesus by spending time in the Bible and in prayer.  What changes do you need to make today to make a positive impact in your tomorrow?
